Branding for Snobbish Burger

Bacau, a city from Romania, is a place filled with community involvement. There’s always something to do there: evening movie projections, food fests, concerts, conferences, TED talks and a youth hub with a lot going on in there. There resides Snobbish Burger, a place that mocks people who take themselves too seriously and a point of interest for the cool people of Bacau, especially people that are make changes in the community. A place full of good vibes and great food.
In 2018, they asked me to redesign their visual identity. The previous logo was a bit offensive to some vegetarian clients in their audience, representing a very detailed pig with a hat. The challenge was to keep all their personality traits in one logo, without keeping it too simple. Snobbish is a place that radiates creativity. The place itself is an old vintage home transformed into a restaurant, filled with different pieces of art, walls with murals, a gorgeous garden where all sorts of events take place. The new Snobbish had to get on the same pace with all of that!
I approached a comical, cartoonish art direction for the branding. Also, I couldn’t miss to put the spotlight on the burgers too, since they were the stars after all. So, it all resulted in a funny figure, something that is really straight up with their mission and values about their community, with a vintage, cartoony font to go with it.
They loved it and from that point on it’s all history. Snobbish kept the same food on the plate, same creative people at the table but starting from 2018, with a fresher look.
